I was born and raised in Hawai'i and grew up with all of these foods. Living on the mainland for 6 years now, I definitely appreciate all of the pictures and wonderful narrative of some of my old favorites. Thanks for the memories!

I lived on the island of Oahu from the ages of 5-8. Best potlucks EVER after our baseball games. And I had totally forgotten about manapua until now.

We had about a dozen banana trees around our house, and I have NO IDEA what we did with so many damn bananas. I'll have to ask my parents.
