Banana Bread French Toast

Specifically requested by TA after seeing it on the Food Network, this breakfast monstrosity is my tribute to a favorite web site: This is Why You're Fat.
As I've mentioned before, TA and I don't have television in our home. When we visit folks that do, we tend to watch a good deal of the Food Network. Granted, a good deal of my time is spent making fun of television personalities - not that I think I'm better, I just think they suck. The only two people left on the Food Network that I have even a modicum of respect for are Ina Garten and Alton Brown.
While watching a bit o' TV over Thanksgiving holiday at the Outer Banks, TA saw banana bread french toast on one of the shows.
He asked me to make it for him when we got home. I said no.
He badgered me until I caved.
I managed to eat three bites of this diabetic-coma inducing behemoth of a "breakfast."
Save your arteries and your waistlines, folks. Do not eat this.
TA's feeling after eating his entire serving? "I can't believe I just ate that."

It seems like you're in banana mood :) It looks delicious!

I didn't even put peanut butter on mine. That was all sweetbird... While eating it was, as noted above, unbelievable, this was very much a tasty dish. Precisely what you would imagine fried, egg-soaked cake would taste like drowned in maple syrup.
Yeah, just imagining eating this makes me shake and sweat a little (not in a good way). So let me guess: did you see this on Paula Deen's show?
And dude: don't you like Giada? Like, at all? I think she's pretty cool. I usually like most of her recipes (Ina Garten's are consistently good as well).
jive turkey: I'm pretty sure it was on whatever Guy Fieri's piece of crap show is called, if I remember correctly. I asked the husband and he couldn't remember either - although that may be because he knows how much I hate that rotund, bleached moron and would refuse to make it altogether if it came from him.
It pretty sure it was on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.
I'm pretty sure this would give me a stomach ache.... My sweet tooth is not that big anymore.

Your post made me laugh out loud...and I'm at work, so that's a no no :D
I completely agree with you about the Food network. The only thing i can still watch are the competitions, and even those I usually just keep in the background just to see the designs and flavor combinations. And while that french toast looks lovely, I too think that it's unnecessarily too much.
